La Zone des étudiant(e)s est consacrée aux étudiants en géographie qui cherchent à établir des contacts avec d'autres membres étudiants de l'ACG, à étendre leurs expériences en géographie, et/ou à s'ouvrir à des perspectives dans les domaines académiques, gouvernementaux ou industriels se rapportant à des sous disciplines en géographie.
La Zone des étudiant(e)s est conçue pour vous offrir de l'information importante et des ressources comme le forum électronique destiné aux études supérieures en géographie, des liens utiles, des perspectives et des avis. De plus, la page sur l'éducation accessible à partir de la page web principale vous offre de l'information sur la formation professionnelle et/ou académique.
Cette information, disponible par Internet, est accessible et peut profiter à une diversité de personnes et de disciplines. Il existe encore d'autres avantages à être membre étudiant de l'ACG. Les membres reçoivent :
1) d'adhéshion à l'ACG à un prix réduit
2) la publication trimestrielle Le Géographe canadien
3) le Bulletin publié tous les deux mois
4) l'Annuaire de l'Association
5) participation aux congrès annuel et des divisions régionales à un prix d'adhésion réduit
6) des bourses de voyage pour assister aux congrès

I am in my third year of a PhD in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Carleton University. My research is on processes of co-existence between people and endangered species and brings some of the insights from biogeography together with recent work in critical and cultural geography to consider human-animal interaction in a new way. CAG has been an important part of my studies – presenting my research-in-progress in regional and national meetings has helped me develop my ideas through constructive and supportive criticism, and by meeting geographers in neighbouring fields and discussing their work. I am eager to help other students have relevant and useful CAG experiences during their studies and as they move out of university and into the work world.
My goals for my term as student councilor include starting a conversation with students, geography departments, and recent graduates about how the Association can provide the support and services they need to succeed in their studies and future employment. Based on feedback from student members and faculty we can continue to enhance the CAG experience for student members. We are continuing the good work of the CAG Student Advisory Committee, which gives students an ongoing opportunity to participate in the Association, and will continue to develop ways to include students in decision-making and the development of CAG.
