WDCAG 2024: Relevance
March 15-16, 2024, Okanagan College. CAG Western Division.

2024 WDCAG Symposium

The 65th Symposium of the Western Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers (WDCAG) will be hosted by the Geography and Earth & Environmental Science Department at Okanagan College (OC) in Kelowna, BC March 15-16, 2024. The theme of this meeting will be Relevance.

Relevance is what makes geography powerful. Geographers are in important positions in government, business, and the community. We have insights that recognize challenges others don’t, and we provide solutions. We understand why solutions that work in one place won’t work in another. We make connections and see the big picture.

The theme of the 2024 WDCAG conference is relevance. We invite participants to reflect on how your work is relevant, whether to society, a community, a government department, an employer, or to your own development.

Geographers from all fields of geography and related disciplines are invited to attend. Some papers will be published in Western Geography.

The WDCAG Journal - Western Geography Volume 25, 2023.

Authors are invited to submit original scholarly work on geographical themes or topics that emphasize western Canada and adjacent areas, or that are written by geographers from this region to Western Geography. The editor and editorial board invite manuscripts of a empirical, methodological, philosophical or theoretical nature that fall within this objective. Submission details and template on the Western Geography homepage.
